Cemetary walk & the Sweeney. [Feb. 24th, 2008|01:21 pm]
Melanie
I and C went for a walk through the central cemetary in Graz yesterday. I've never been there before, and I thought that it was quite beautiful, particularly because the late-afternoon light was so pretty.

After that we went to see Sweeney Todd. It didn't impress me as much as I thought I would. Maybe because I didn't like the songs that much, maybe because I think that the old Tim-Burton-look is getting boring. Johnny D's hair was good, though.

Miss M.'s Breakfast View. [Feb. 12th, 2008|08:42 pm]
Melanie
I think I took a nice picture a few days ago. Since this doesn't happen very often, I'm posting it now.

12 Feb 08: Kitchen window view

This is the view from our kitchen window. Nothing special (in fact quite ugly), but the light is pretty.

Melanie
There is a plastic butterfly sitting on the tiny bamboo on our windowsill. It is awfully fotogenic.

Melanie
Christoph and I went to have a little supper in the hillier parts of our village today. Then we went to rent Lost in Translation on DVD, which we're going to watch now.

day 2:

The second day was Wednesday and it consisted of lots and lots of sight-seeing and hill-climbing and beautiful things and also a lot of exhaustion in the evening. I think I took my best pictures on that day.

day 3:

On Friday we wanted to take a look at the Jewish Quarter, but it was closed for 2 days because of Jewish New Year. That was sad. I was really looking forward to it. So we just walked around. In the evening we saw beautiful Joanna Newsom in concert.

day 4:

On Saturday we did Wencelas Square, Bethlehem Chapel and Petrín (which you've probably never heard of) and ran around looking for a police man because Christoph thought that the Bankomat where I got some money had been manipulated by criminals. However, it wasn't. We also had dinner in a traditional old Czech restaurant where they had the most delicious beer.
